Our Company

The Alex Fraser Group is engaged in construction and demolition materials recycling, and asphalt production and paving. We operate five manufacturing facilities in Melbourne, two in Brisbane and employ around 270 people. The role is based at Laverton North.

About the Opportunity

Activities

  • Reporting to Group Manager, Fixed Plant & Mobile Equipment Maintenance;
  • Applying reliability engineering principles to the maintenance of our strategic production plants (5 crushing plants, 2 asphalt production plants) and mobile equipment fleet to reduce equipment failure costs;
  • Working with the Workshop Manager and in-house maintenance team of 10;
  • Based from a modern, well-equipped workshop facility in Laverton North;
  • Identify, assess and prioritise opportunities related to equipment and process failure;
  • Audit and monitor maintenance activities and critical equipment performance;
  • Communicate performance metrics such as availability, MTBF, MTTR, Downtime, OEE and Root Cause;
  • Then implement.

What you need to succeed

  • Experienced with equipment condition monitoring (oil analysis, vibration analysis, thermographic survey);
  • Skilled in Root cause analysis and reliability centred maintenance analysis techniques;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to influence others and develop positive relationships;
  • High level written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Computer literate - advanced MS Word, Excel, Project and database skills.
