About the Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to join a growing independent asphalt company known for a positive customer-focused culture and contracting excellence.
As the laboratory technician, you will be responsible running all aspects of a busy NATA-accredited laboratory supporting a new asphalt production plant at Dandenong.
You will maintain laboratory test equipment and calibrations, ensure safety and housekeeping aspects are covered and provide feedback on test results to production personnel including any non-conformances.
This is a multi-skilled team environment so you will also pitch in and assist the production team with general duties. Some weekend work is required.
You must be able to work with minimum supervision and physically able to perform testing safely and in accordance with the relevant SWMS.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience sampling and testing of asphalt for bitumen content and grading, including maximum density testing;
- Certificate III or better in Laboratory techniques (construction materials testing);
- NATA experience and management of laboratory accreditation requirements desirable;
- Good Microsoft Excel & Word skills; and
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
