About the Opportunity

We are now seeking a full-time Diesel Mechanic to join the Alex Fraser team in Laverton North, Melbourne.
The modern maintenance and fabrication workshop at Laverton North supports an on-highway transport business, three concrete crushing plants and a highly-mechanized recycling business. The workshop team maintains over 70 items of heavy mobile plant including 26 company on-highway trucks.
The successful candidate will have:
- Trade qualifications as a diesel mechanic
- Experience in diagnosis, maintenance and repair of diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrain components, air brakes and fuel systems
- Extensive experience with working on asphalt pavers and profilers (advantageous)
- Experience with digital diagnostic techniques (advantageous)
- The ability to mentor tradesmen/apprentices

About the Benefits
Our team of talented diesel mechanics are fortunate enough to work on a modern fleet of Hitachi and Komatsu excavators. John Deere, Komatsu and CAT loaders, skid steers, water trucks and brand new Kenworth road trucks – hook lift, Truck and dog, twin steer tandem.
Remuneration is an attractive hourly rate ($35 - $40 per hour plus overtime) based on experience. There is plenty of overtime and great opportunities for training and development if you are looking to expand your skills or get ahead.
In addition, the dynamic nature of our businesses makes for challenge and variety in your work - there is no such thing as an average day.
