About the Opportunity

Tired of spending time on planes? Missing your family? Move to Melbourne and be home every night working for Australia’s largest recycling company.

The modern maintenance and fabrication workshop at Laverton North supports an on-highway transport business, three concrete crushing plants and a highly-mechanized recycling business.

The workshop team maintains over 70 items of heavy mobile plant including 26 company on-highway trucks. The dynamic nature of the businesses makes for challenge and variety - there is no such thing as an average day.

Our team of talented diesel mechanics are fortunate enough to work on a modern fleet of Hitachi and Komatsu excavators. John Deere, Komatsu and CAT loaders, skid steers, water trucks and brand new Kenworth road trucks – hook lift, Truck and dog, twin steer tandem.

Remuneration is an attractive hourly rate ($35-40 per hour plus overtime) based on experience. There is plenty of overtime and great opportunities for training and development if you are looking to expand your skills or get ahead.

You must have trade qualifications as a diesel mechanic. Extensive experience with working on asphalt pavers and profilers would be advantageous. You will have experience in diagnosis, maintenance and repair of diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrain components, air brakes and fuel systems. Experience with digital diagnostic techniques will be an advantage. But most of all we are looking for a positive attitude, willingness to join the team for the long term, mentoring ability for tradesmen/apprentices and someone who takes pride in what they do.
